The Monroe County Drug Task Force is not an independent law enforcement agency per se, but is comprised of officers from multiple police departments throughout Monroe County.

Through a cooperative agreement between those agencies and the District Attorney's Office, officers working under the auspices of the Drug Task Force have police authority throughout Monroe County.

Probation Officers, either under the Office of Adult Probation or the Office of Juvenile Probation, are responsible for the supervision of adult criminal offenders or juvenile offenders in the community who have been placed on probation, parole, or intermediate punishment by the Monroe County Court of Common Pleas.

The Pennsylvania State Police serve Monroe County by providing law enforcement services 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to those municipalities with no municipal police department or those municipalities with a part time police department. Three separate PSP barracks provide service to Monroe County:  Swiftwater, Fernridge, and Lehighton.

PSP Swiftwater serves Hamilton, Middle Smithfield, Paradise, Price, and Smithfield Townships in Monroe County, as well as Delaware Water Gap Borough when DWGPD is not on duty, and all of Interstate 80 and Interstate 380.

PSP Fernridge serves Chestnuthill and Jackson Townships.

PSP Lehighton serves Eldred, Polk, and Ross Townships.
