513 charges held for court in ex-coach sex abuse case

April 3, 2017

Ron Gorman, 51, formerly of Stroud Township, Pennsylvania, currently of Marietta, Georgia, had his preliminary hearing on Friday, March 31, 2017 in front of Magisterial District Judge Daniel Higgins.

Prior to the preliminary hearing, Assistant District Attorney Julieane Fry withdrew the initial complaint filed on behalf of the second victim after new information had come forward which required additional charges to be filed for the same victim.  A new complaint was filed on the same date which mirrors the charges set forth in the complaint filed on behalf of the first victim.

Gorman is now charged with a combined total of 513 offenses that range from Rape of a Child to Statutory Sexual Assault to Corruption of a Minor.

After a lengthy hearing, in which Trooper Brian Noll testified to the extensive investigation which he and other troopers have been conducting for months, MDJ Higgins bound all charges for court.

Gorman will now be placed on the June 2017 trial term where he will face these charges in the Monroe County Courthouse.

Investigation continues as to Gorman’s victimization of juveniles while he lived in Monroe County, specifically between the 2006 – 2009 time period.  It was during this time that Gorman, as a volunteer wrestling coach, is accused of sexual misconduct with the two victims who ranged in ages between 10 and 15.

In 2009 the Gorman’s moved to Marietta, Georgia. Testimony at the preliminary hearing indicates that Gorman continued to victimize the two boys by flying them to and from Georgia and also meeting up with them when he would return to Monroe County.

Gorman remains at Monroe County Correctional Facility in lieu of a million dollars bail.
